Three Things

I was supposed to be going to see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness today, but since the person that was supposed to go with me decided to flake out, I'm writing a series of three things you may or may not know about me! Since this is still a new blog, I figured it's the perfect time for posts like these as sort of a "getting to know the author" type of thing. So here goes nothing!

By the way, feel free to share three things about yourself in the comments after the post! I'd love to read some interesting facts about anyone that might be reading!

  1. I'm a Twitch Streamer! For anyone reading who may not know what Twitch is, it's a live-streaming platform where anybody can start their own channel and broadcast live online. It's generally gaming-related, but there are also categories for people who perform live music, create art, cook food, and a whole slew of other creative things. There's also a big category for people who go live just to chat with their audience! I generally stick to the gaming side of things myself, playing things like World of Warcraft and Dead by Daylight, but I try to branch out every once in a rare blue moon. Feel free to follow my channel and check it out sometime when I'm broadcasting! I generally go live on Saturday evenings and I try to stream once or twice during the week as well, depending on how work is going for me. Your best bet is to also follow me on Twitter, where I'm the most active online, to find out in advance when I'm going live.
  2. I love pens and sticky notes! I work in an office, but it's still maybe a weird obsession to have. I love a good pen and sticky notes are like crack to me. I have tons of them and still collect more. Gel pens are personally my favorite because they write so smooth and, fun fact, they don't freeze in inclement weather, which I learned during my tenure working outside at the airport for FedEx Express for several years! Granted, they sometimes get a little smudgy, but I can make do with that... Just be careful until it dries! Duh! I don't know what the affinity for these items is all about though. I think they, along with the many planners I tend to neglect, make me feel like I'm getting my life together or something. (Pilot G-2, PaperMate InkJoy, and Zebra Sarasa Clip pens are all my favorite brands if you're in the market for some excellent writing tools yourself!)

  3. I'm a crazy cat guy! If you don't already know me, you should also know that I have three cats! Their names are Tigger, who is a big, loveable, and very mellow gray tabby; Rufus, a very shy, loving, and introverted black and gray kitty; and Cinnamon, a completely wild and constantly hungry orange ball of fluff. To be honest, I really love almost all animals and oftentimes try to support charities and organizations that work towards helping them or aiding conservation efforts, but cats probably have the softest spot in my heart because of my own three babies.
There are a lot of other things I could probably share about myself as well (like, did I mention that I'm also kind of obsessed with computers and technology stuff?), but there's always time for that later. Hopefully, this is just enough to get some conversations started!

      He definitely is! I wish I had a photo of all three of them together that I could have used, but you know that's like herding cats. Oh wait... 😄

Bad Friends

Back in high school, I had a group of friends that mostly consisted of girls. I wasn't necessarily friends with them because  they were girls I was interested in or anything, but because they were fellow students at my school who happened to live in the same neighborhood as me. New Blog, Same Dude

I used to write. Sometimes little stories that nobody ever read. Sometimes characters that I made up with friends that also used to write. Sometimes stories and anecdotes about my life that nobody really wanted to read. But it occurred to me recently, that at some point in my 37 years, I stopped writing. Have you ever noticed that as we grow older, our spirits start to harden and turn to stone? Our aspirations to become things like astronauts and rockstars start to fade and the cold corporate world starts chipping away at our souls in their place.
